Liverpool totally won me over
The music scene here is something else. Every pub on Mathew Street has live music going and the energy is just mad. People are dead friendly too. Didn't expect a city like this to feel so welcoming.
Best city break I've had in ages
The waterfront along the Albert Dock is stunning. Loads of great bars and restaurants right on the water, and the museums are free which is a massive bonus. The whole area is super easy to walk around and there's always something going on.
Football + city trip = perfect combo
Came for an Anfield match and ended up loving the whole city. The locals are hilarious and so passionate about their football. The stadium tour is worth every penny. City center is compact and easy to get around on foot.
Great weekend away with the girls
Bold Street is an absolute must for shopping and coffee. Loads of indie shops and cute little cafes. The nightlife is great without being too hectic. Really good value compared to other UK cities we've visited.
Didn't want to leave
The Beatles Story at the Albert Dock is genuinely brilliant even if you're not a massive fan. Liverpool has this proud, confident identity that you don't find everywhere. Food scene has really stepped up too - tried some fantastic scouse stew at a local pub.
Cracking Christmas city break
Liverpool at Christmas is proper magical. The decorations around Liverpool ONE were brilliant and the markets had great food and mulled wine. Felt really festive without being overcrowded. Kids absolutely loved it.
